Extinct Animal: Tasmanian Tiger

Tasmanian Tiger in captivity.

Extinct?

The tasmanian tiger was declared 'extinct' in 1936. But their people are still looking for them in Tasmania. Here are some quick facts about this animal:

  1. It has 15-20 stripes near their hind legs
  2. They are part of the marsupial family like the kangaroo
  3. Their nickname is the 'tazzy tiger'

Although they have been declared 'extinct', there have been findings that have not been proved to actually be the tazzy tigers - but people are still looking.
